Winning Souls for God!!!!!

Hey I know we have been a little out of touch:) So let me bring you up to speed. I have been busy fasting, praying, writing, being mommy, a wife:), and winning souls for God!!! Saturday i was on out reach and I had a wonderful time. I mean it was truly amazing to help and feed those who were either without food or just maybe wanted a hot dog along with some prayer:) My church New Life Community is dedicated to reaching out to those in different communities, the elderly, the sick and shut in, and many more. It was great to have my pastor in her jeans and the other leaders of the church getting out there in the hot sun giving out hot dogs and drinks:) We had a sign up that said FREE HOT DOGS!!!!! Yet people still asked is it free? Some commented "most churches aren't doing this anymore"! It was hard for them to believe that my pastor was out there with the members. I had such a wonderful time!!! Someone asked why are you not selling your food? My pastor said because "Salvation is free"!!! People if salvation is free why dosen't anybody want it? But anywhoo I'm not here to preach:) I just want to encourage you to do more! Do more in your churches. Be more than a member:) If you don't have a church home then find one. No not just any place:) Listen to your spirit:) You'll KNOW when your in the right place:) Well thank you for reading what Summer Jae is writing:)

Okay so I auditioned for a play and it was an amazing feeling....Something else to add to my list:) It's a gospel play called "STAND" I play a sassy sister with attitude. So it is very exciting:) When I was auditioning I was nervous and my armpits started to sweat. lol I thought I was either melting or having a meltdown. I was an internal wreck!!! NOTE I SAID INTERNAL:) On the outside I seemed calm and collective...(NEVER LET THEM SEE YOU SWEAT) Thank God for giving me strength. I got the part and also got the part of another role in the directors next play:) Thank you Jesus!!!! I still need work so i'm going to get with the director for fine tuning:) Anywhoo......sharing is caring:) Hope your day is blessed and fab...TTFN:)

When I thought it was over you showed me it was only the beginning! When I wanted to react You said hold your peace and I will fight your battles. You were my Lawyer, Doctor, Father, MY PROVIDER and MY REDEEMER!!!! You are my light when everything else seems dim.
Lord you have blessed me and I shall FOREVER PRAISE YOUR NAME!!

SUMMER JAE..ON DA GOSPEL TRUTH!!

ENJOY SUMMER ALL YEAR ROUND WITH NEW ARTIST SUMMER J.A.E. (SUMMER JOHNSON AN EVOLVER)

I can’t say it enough, but I love it when I get the opportunity to give new and upcoming independent artists some shine!! Now this doesn’t happen with everyone I listen to because some artists simply get CRICKETS!But, when I’m on your team, I’m going to do my best to talk you up as much as I can. I discovered Summer Jae because she started following me on Twitter. I clicked on her Twitter page and she had a link to her MySpace page, so I said let me check her out! DING, DING, DING folks we have a winner!! Summer Jae is bringing the HEAT! Her single “Sanctify Me” had me bouncing and singing along by the time it got to the chorus! I think I liked her even more because she sounds very similar to an R&B singer I LOVE named Jazzy. If you’re an R&B head check her out. ANYHOO, Summer Jae is based out of Miami, FL and worked the R&B circuit until God changed her life and now she is adamant about singing for Jesus and no one else. Sorry my single Christian fellas, she is already married in holy matrimony and has a bouncing baby boy. When I received Summer’s bio I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t just a laundry list of who she’s worked with, but it was really about who she is, where she’s been and where God is taking her. Her debut album “J.U.S.T. M.E.” is said to be coming soon! I think she is going to make a little noise and I’m going to help! For more information on Summer J.A.E. go to www.myspace.com/iamsummerjae

BLACK IN AMERICA P2

HARTFORD, Connecticut (CNN) -- Principal Steve Perry doesn't believe in cursory inspections. For him, every single detail matters. T's are always crossed, I's are always dotted. Shirts are always buttoned and tucked in.

Principal Steve Perry's demanding approach, tough love and high expectations have paid off at Capital Prep.

During his daily morning hallway inspections, he reprimands a student not wearing the Capital Prep school approved sweatshirt with a "That's not our gray." He then quickly peers into another classroom to witness a student acting up. "Don't do it! Don't do it! Don't do it!" he warns sternly. The student retorts "Why not?" Perry knowingly looks at him and simply says, "You're the upperclassman" and with that, the student sheepishly walks away.

It's all part of the daily routine of tough love and high expectations at Capital Preparatory Magnet School in downtown Hartford, Connecticut. It's a public magnet school, with a college prep school attitude. As Perry says, "If you don't want to go to college, don't go to Capital Prep. Go somewhere else."

Perry's demanding approach has yielded big results. The school of just under 300 sixth- through 12th-grade students boasts a near 0 percent dropout rate. That's a stunning achievement considering Hartford is one of the lowest performing districts in Connecticut, a state with one of the largest achievement gaps between black and white students in the nation. According to the Connecticut Coalition for Achievement NOW, an educational advocacy group, black students in Connecticut are, on average, three grade levels behind their white peers.

Capital Prep, a year-round school that is more than 80 percent black and Latino, can boast of sending every graduating member of its senior class on to a four-year college. In the four years since Perry founded the school, he has sent 80 students on to college
