‘All Black People’ Asked To Leave Wal-Mart Store

Wal-Mart officials in South Jersey are reviewing a videotape to find out which employee used the public address system to announce, “Attention Wal-Mart customers: All black people leave the store now.”

Patricia Covington and Shelia Ellington were inside the store when it happened and told the Courier Post that customers and store employees looked stunned when they heard it.
“In 2010, I want to know why such statements are being made because it flies in the face of what we teach them [our kids] at home, and that’s tolerance for people,” said Ellington.
Ellington and other customers let store management and police know they were upset.
They asked the store to use the same announcement system to apologize to customers that night, which it did.
Wal-Mart management called the incident “unacceptable,” and said it’s working to make sure nothing like this happens at any other stores.

New York Chef serves cheese made from breast milk....aaaaaaaaaaaah

Yuck. A NYC chef caused a stir in NYC today after he blogged about converting his wife’s breast milk into cheese.
Chef Daniel Angerer, owner of Klee Brasserie restaurant in Chelsea, serves diners his wife’s breast milk in cheese appetizers — and they love it.“The phone was ringing off the hook,” the chef said. “So I prepared a little canapé of breast-milk cheese with figs and Hungarian pepper.”
“It tastes like cow’s-milk cheese, kind of sweet,” he told The NY Post.
The flavor depends on what the cheese is served with — Angerer recommends a Riesling — and “what the mother eats,” said Angerer, who once bested Bobby Flay on TV’s “Iron Chef.”
Breast milk doesn’t curdle well due to its low protein content, so a little moo juice has to be added to round out the texture, Angerer said.
At least he’s honest about what he’s putting in his cheese. You don’t know what “extra” ingredients are being slipped into your food when you eat out.
After the NY Post brought the natural dairy cheese to the attention of the NY public health board, Angerer was told to refrain from serving any more human breast milk cheese to his diners — even though there’s no ordinance against it.
“The restaurant knows that cheese made from breast milk is not for public consumption, whether sold or given away,” a spokeswoman for the city Department of Health said.

Mary Mary, Tamela Mann Stellar For Image Awards

Gospel music was represented well at Friday's 41st Annual NAACP Image Awards.

Joining fellow performing talentKeri Hilson, Wyclef Jean, and Jill Scott, both Mary Mary and Tamela Mann took the stage at Shrine Auditiorium. The latter of the two, Tamela Mann (pictured) turned out the show with a rousing tribute to Chairman Award winner Tyler Perry.

BeBe and CeCe Winans picked up the night's lone Gospel award for Outstanding Gospel album for their latest release "Still". Mary Mary, closing out the night with a performance, won an award for Outstanding Song ("God In Me").

Tyler Perry's TBS series 'House of Payne' led television related winners, earning four wins, including Outstanding Comedy Series. Actress Cassi Davis, who portrays Ella Payne, won Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series. Lance Gross and Keshia Knight Pulliam also picked up awards.

The 41st Annual NAACP Image Awards aired Friday, February 26, 2010 on FOX.

David Mann, Lenny Kravitz, Mo'Nique, Sandra Bullock, Taraji P. Henson, and Gabourey Sidibe were also spotted in attendance. Hill Harper and Anika Noni Rose hosted the night's festivities.

Karen Clark Sheard 'Speaks Up' With EEW Magazine Cover

Gospel recording star Karen Clark Sheard is speaking up in the just revealed issue of EEW Magazine.

Telling the magazine, she's always been the "shy" one and "baby girl of the family," Clark Sheard is looking forward to her first album under a joint venture with EMI, titled Karew Records, and setting the record straight on just who she is.

“First of all, I’m the baby girl of the family and that has a lot to do with it, because everybody fought for me," says Sheard. "I had big sisters that spoke up for me."

Due in stores April 6, Sheard says "All In One" (the album) takes on the many hats she wears including mother, First Lady and businesswoman.

"This record is gonna talk about who I am," Clark Sheard tells Empowering Everyday Women, "and all of the hats that I wear. Beyonce opens Rehab Center!!!!

“BEYONCE will be in Brooklyn this Friday to cut the ribbon on a very special project — the Beyonce Cosmetology Center at Phoenix House, a rehab center. Phoenix House runs something called the Career Academy, which is a residential substance abuse treatment program that offers vocational training programs. Beyonce’s new venture will allow men and women in treatment to prepare for careers in the cosmetology field after a seven-month training course.”

With her highly anticipated album, Soldier of Love, recently topping the charts, Nigerian-born singer Sade, has definitely made the 10-year wait worthwhile. But, what has she been up to during this mysterious hiatus? The notoriously private superstar gave Ebony an exclusive peek into her world outside of the studio. “I’ve had my ups and downs in the years between these albums, said Sade. “That’s partly why I’m able to write songs that people in some way can hear. I express feelings, real feelings.”

The issue hits stands March 9th.
