Dove Awards Move To Atlanta ?

Dove Award organizers are taking a leap of faith in 2011, announcing a move to Atlanta.

According to organizers, the annual celebration of gospel music will take place at Atlanta, Georgia's Fox Theatre in Midtown Atlanta April 20, 2011.

GMA board chairman Ed Leonard said the move was an opportunity to expand the reach of the awards, according to the AP.

For many years, the Dove Awards have been held at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, TN.

Nothing is confirmed but it would be nice:)

Deitrick Haddon 'Blessed' DVD Released

According GC, Pain, Deceit and Triumph are just some of the plots twists that viewers will experience in this highly anticipated movie! A modern retelling of the dramatic Biblical account of Saul and David, “Blessed & Cursed” stars Deitrick as Dwight Hawkins an incredibly gifted young man who is in search of his purpose amid setbacks and unexpected surprises. Also starring are Sheryl Lee Ralph, Drew Sidora and a host of Gospel music stars including Karen Clark-Sheard, Damita Haddon, Kierra ‘Kiki’ Sheard, Dr. BobbyJones and Rance Allen.

“I think that’s what people will really appreciate about this film, that it’s really transparent,” says Haddon. “It’s real to what happens in church. It shows church politics and the way people really are.”

Music from the film is also available at digital retailers, including contributions from Karen Clark Sheard and Bobby Jones.

You mean to tell me Tyler Perry is the ONLY one who can pull that off? I don't know Just my thoughts:) Not putting it down just would like to see us fighting to be on the screen and not accepting to go straight to DVD:/ But you have to start somewhere....There are also a lot of amazing people in it....Most Deserving to be in theatres:)

Donald Lawrence, Walker, Dillard Unite For GMWA

Three of Gospel music's top talents will team up for a special concert this month.

According to GMWA organizers, Donald Lawrence, Hezekiah Walker and Ricky Dillard will take the stage as 'The Brat Pack Reunion' Tuesday, July 27 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Taking place at the Grand Ballroom at Duke Energy Convention Center, the concert is slated to begin at midnight, during what is often billed as Gospel music's biggest convention -- the Gospel Music Workshop of America Annual National Convention, July 24 - 30.
