Fort Worth transit agency bans faith-based ads....

 The message from Fort Worth, Texas: no more religious advertisements allowed, at least on its transit system.The pro and anti-religious ad battle has been front and center this holiday season. Atheist groups and the Catholic League had a billboard brawl in New York late last month, and now the fight has reached Texas.The Board of the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T) voted unanimously last week to formally adopt an advertising policy for all T property which includes a ban on faith-based ads.The vote was prompted after a recent ad purchased by The Dallas-Fort Worth Coalition of Reason which caused a lot of commotion in town. Millions of Americans in at least 31 U.S. cities could be drinking tap water contaminated with the harmful chemical hexavalent chromium, according to a report released Monday by the non-profit Environmental Working Group.Bottled water is not necessarily any safer than tap water," said Sutton. "We just don't have any guarantee that hexavalent chromium isn't in that water."So how can you protect yourself? Sutton says your best bet is buying an effective water filter."Getting the water filter is a great way to protect yourself and your family," says Sutton. "It's a step you can take yourself; you don't have to wait for government action."

I watched the 2010 Lunar Eclipse :)

 On Tuesday Dec. 21, 2010 the first day of northern winter, the full Moon passes almost dead-center through Earth's shadow. The eclipse begins at 1:33 am EST. At that time, Earth's shadow will appear as a dark-red bite at the edge of the lunar disk. It takes about an hour for the "bite" to expand and swallow the entire Moon. Totality commences at 2:41 am EST and lasts for 72 minutes. According to NASA the last total lunar eclipse that happened on the winter solstice was Dec. 21, 1638. The next one will Dec. 21, 2094....I am blessed to have the opportunity to experience it:) Thank you Lord!!!

It's raining......I love to listen to the rain drops fall. The scent of Nature heightens and creates an atmosphere that is soothing and intimate....I appreciate the many wonders of God.....:)

Tasty Homemade Gift...Unique Gift Giving:)

A taste of summer's best and brightest flavors, strawberry and lemon, is a welcome gift in cold winter months. (The secret is in the freezer aisle—this recipe uses two bags of frozen berries.) Skip the traditional canning process and simply refrigerate the marmalade in glass jars. Tie a ribbon around the neck, and add a thinner metallic twine on top for extra glitter.

Servings: Makes about 3 cups (large batch: about 9 cups)

Ingredients

Strawberry–Lemon Marmalade

• 2 (1-pound) bags frozen strawberries , about 6 cups (large batch: 6 one-pound bags, about 18 cups)
• 3 cups sugar (large batch: 9 cups)
• 1 cup loosely packed lemon peel , in thin strips (from about 6 lemons; large batch: 3 cups, from about 18 lemons)
• 1/4 cup honey (large batch: 3/4 cup)
• 1/4 cup lemon juice (large batch: 3/4 cup)
• 1/8 tsp. fine salt (large batch: 3/8 tsp.)

Directions

Active time: 30 minutes
Total time: 1 hour, 30 minutes

Chill a small plate in the freezer for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, put all ingredients into a large, heavy nonreactive pot and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to medium and simmer, skimming foam off the surface, for 25 to 35 minutes. (The foam can be kept and used as a topping for ice cream or yogurt.)

To test marmalade for doneness, drop a small spoonful onto the chilled plate, wait about 5 seconds, then run your finger through center of marmalade. When it???s thick enough, the line made by your finger should remain clear. If the marmalade holds its shape, remove from pot the stove and proceed to next step. If the marmalade runs back together, continue to cook, return the plate to the freezer, and check again in a few minutes.

Ladle into jars, seal tightly, and cool to room temperature. Keeps for up to 3 weeks refrigerated.

Note: For the best results, choose strawberries that have been frozen without added sugar or syrup....yummy

OKAY SO TODAY I AM ON MY WAY HOME FROM THE MALL AREA AND I LOOKED SO CUTE..BLACK BOOTS, ANKLE LENGTH FITTED BLACK SKIRT, OLIVE SHIRT, AND DENIM JACKET....CUTE YOU HEAR ME :) SO I'M ON THE PHONE AND ABOUT TO CROSS THE STREET...A BUNCH OF CONSTRUCTION WORKERS START HISSING (UNCOMFORTABLE) AND I AM RUSHING TO GET ACROSS THE STREET..THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN MY HEEL DOES THIS CRAZY TWISTY THINGY AND BOOM YO GIRL (SUMMER) GOES DOWN AND I HIT MY KNEES...OMG REWIND.....I WAS ON MY KNEES!!!  I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO PASS OUT...I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH MY AUNT AND SHE HEARD THE WHOLE THING...SIGH....SHE ASKED ME IF I WAS CUT UP AND I SAID I WAS TO EMBARRASSED TO LOOK AROUND..I GOT UP SO QUICK..LOL  I ALMOST PLAYED IT OFF AND WAS ABOUT TO JUST ACT LIKE I WAS PRAYING...BUT I COULDN'T BRING MYSELF TO DO IT...SIGH I THANK GOD ANYWAY :) ....SO EMBARRASSED..LOL

This season has been all about leather and lace and we’ve found that designers are channeling the same style onto their models’ nails. Nails and polish are like the new accessory in fashion so to honor this trend, we have provided steps to create your own lace manicure!


Things You Will Need:
You will need black lace, scissors, toothpick(s), and a strong topcoat. Nailene Acrylic Strong topcoat is ideal because you will need something strong to hold the lace. Don’t mistake a top coat with clear polish- it’s not the same.
Now we are ready to start!
Step 1: With your lace- measure and cut it to fit each fingernail.
Step 2: Paint a layer of the top coat on your nails.
Step 3: While the Top Coat is still wet, apply the lace on top. The easiest method would be to  paint one finger, apply the lace and then move onto the next one so the polish will not dry.
Step 4: Once you have applied the lace press it firmly with the toothpick to make sure it stays.
Step 5: Let the polish and lace dry a bit and then apply two more coats of the Nailene Acryllic Strong topcoat!
And your done!

1.    Stand with feet hip-width apart and, for added intensity, hold weights at shoulder level or at your sides.
    2.    Bend the knees, and lower into a squat, keeping the knees behind the toes.  Imagine that you're sticking your butt out behind you, but keep the torso upright and contracted.
    3.    Press into the heels to stand up.
    4.    Repeat for 2-3 sets of 8-16 reps
